I've had this game since christmas and I'm playing with my fifth character, i haven't completed it I just getting a feel for who i should play as. My question is, where is everyone in the game???
For example level, guild positions, armour and weaponry and even gold if you want, because i'm trying to judge whether i'm playing the game well enough or whether i should up the ante.

Do you EVER not post your little statements?

Your wasting it's potential, do I have to say everything in laymen's terms?

Thanks I am on for an 'A' in English Language. I won't go posting it in every forum though and make myself look silly...

Erm I don't think so! I play Dead or Alive 3 for around 2-3 hours every day as well as Project Gotham Racing almost every day. If I had more money I would pick up a few more exclusive titles but I don't so I make the most out of what I have. I am building up my GameCube and Xbox collection so picking up games that *might* be good isn't worth the risk. I am wanting a different style of game away from 3D adventures and after Eternal Darkness arived on friday (thanks SR) I am happy with what I currently have in my collectiom.

At the moment I am contemplating whether or not to purchase this game?! After reading reviews, listening to people talk about it and seeing the game running I still can't make up my mind. I have a feeling that when I get the game I will be so over come with the sheer size of it that I won't know where to turn or what to do. I aren't a fan of magic and I wasn't too keen on Buldurs gate, is the game anything like Buldurs Gate but in 3D? I would love to purchase this game but I just can't decide if it is worth it or not. Any information would be greatly apprecaited, thanks.

For my last thief character, I made a custom 'Amulet of thievery'.

It was a 'cast on use' enchantment which gave 100% chameleon for 20 seconds, as well as telekenesis for 50 feet. Cost me something ridiculous like 60k to make. Worth it though.

If I can see something, I can steal it :)

I'd make that list a little different myself.

I'd say that for a mage/thief, you'll want Illusion, Alteration, Mysticism, and Sneak as primary skills, and get rid of Security and Acrobatics completely.

Here's my reasoning...

The only things you can possibly use security for are picking locks and disarming traps. A character with a security of five can still disarm traps, making security only really useful for lock picking - which is a waste of time when you can use alteration magic to do it instead. Additionally, you'll have levitation, water breathing and all sorts of other useful things you can do with the skill. If you have levitation, you won't need acrobatics either - two birds with one stone.

You'll want mysticism because telekenisis is an incredibly useful skill for any thief, and illusion because chameleon spells are THE most useful thieveing aid there is by a mile.

After that lot you'll need some kind of attack and defense, so probably light armour and either destruction or marksmanship, or whatever else you prefer to use.

I always tend to pick 'The Lady' myself. The +25 endurance means you'll be getting roughly an extra +3 health on top of what you normally would every time you level up - and seeing as health can't be maxed out,I can never bring myself to choose any other birth sign now :)

It helps you take short-cuts over mountains and generally helps you reach high places that you can't normally get to. ["Rising Force potion" will also do this].

This is all to do with Alchemy. I've never bothered with Alchemy, so I don't know much about it. But generally you can combine herbs, flowers and stuff in the calcinator and alembic and create potions. That's all I know.

Cheers, what exactly does levitating do apart from levitating? Does it actually benefit you in any other way?

Also do you know anything about all the spells and things, when you do stuff to certain objects, also about the calcinator and alembic and stuff? Also, the different types of plant and things e.g. gold kanet, mushrooms, fungus and other plant type things which i cant remember, i used to have a lot of planty things which i did nothing with, just interested in what they can be used for. i once tried eating them but to no effect.

It takes a while to build your skill levels up to a decent level, so while you're doing that, I'd try to steal/buy some useful magical items like rings/amulets which can summon creatures or allow you to levitate.

Mysticism is good for teleportation spells, and Alteration is good for stuff like water-walking.

It's always useful to be good at one combat skill though, and as a mage choosing Blunt Weapon is probably the best - so if you get cornered you can always beat 'em up with a staff.
