How about wrapping it in a large pillow, securing it with gaffa tape?

Try turning the TV sound up so you can't hear yourself!

If you can hear your PS2 over that then you know you've got problems.

My PC is louder than my PS2 so I can't complain. I have mine (PS2) in a glass fronted cabinet where I'm able to shut the doors and that keeps the noise down.

I still don't know what this whole CD/DVD malarkey is all about. I've never noticed the CD's being louder than the DVD's - I can't see any reason why they would be.

I had my console in a glass fronted cabinet for a while but I only found it annoying whilst watching films in any case - no time to worry about noise whilst gaming!!
