Okay so i'm not exactly knowledgeable in this particular field but...can you possibly buy anything like this?

I'd almost definately say you can't do anything to make it quieter. It's unfortunate, but we'll just have to live with it.

It only makes a bad noise when you play games that are on CD format. Most new games come on DVD and dont make much of a noise when playing.

There is to my knowledge you can do about it.

I've found that the best way to get rid of the noise is to shove a screwdriver into the fan at the back. It will make a lounder noise, but soon give up. The PS2 will overheat every couple of minutes, but that doesn't matter.*

No there isn't a silencer for the PS2. I don't even find it necessary, just put the PS2 in some kind of TV cabinet (with lots of ventilation), it blocks out all the noise for me.

*Don't really shove a screwdriver into your PS2. I know you're not stupid, but I really don't need to be sued right now!
