I would say janis joplin is the best female artist because of her amazing voice.

A voice to die for HM.....she was my first 'love' :¬D

Tarja Turunen is the best female vocalist I have heard.If you spellcheck her name using MS Word it tries to change it to Tarzan,bit of useless information I'd thought I'd add there ! :)
