"Moulin Rouge - the verdict"

Went to see this after my lady insisted I do, she claimed it was 'the best film she'd ever seen'. Hmm. Here's the lowdown:

Good bits:
The cast - McGregor, Kidman, Leguizamo and Broadbent are all fantastic
The visuals - aargh, my eyes are burning (still)
The songs - Nirvana, Queen, Bowie etc.
The director
Nicole Kidman's ta-ta's

Bad bits:
Liking it when it's clearly a girl's film
Watching it with someone who's seen it before
Someone kicked my chair, twice

Overall, I liked it, but that doesn't make me a girl.

No simply, a man who has a strong feminine tendancy, which is usually worse than being a girl.

I'm half-Scottish, which makes you half-gay too. Anyway, the film.

I hate Baz Luhrman.Or however he choses to spell his stupid name.

Here is why I hate him:

1) Baz is a stupid name. Wasn't there a woman on casualty called Baz?

2) Strictly Ballroom. A film about ballroom dancing, starring Aussies.

3) Romeo and Juliet. What a sucky version. I really didn't think Baz's vision of this was worth watching.

4) Sunscreen. Stupid preachy nonsense pop song. My mother-in-Law liked it - that shows how absolutely terrible it was. I hate that kind of crap, trying to tell people how they should think and feel, it was crap.

5) The start of the trailer to Moulin Rouge features a fatman's big face with a 'tache, and it reminded me of the naffness of Romeo and Juliet.

So I definitely shalln't be going to see this.

I'm gay, because you are Scottish? Men with female tendancies make less sense than your average Nintendo fan. Ah well, at least you enjoyed the film.

Rome and Juliet was one of the best films ever. No debate.

Nice to see you agree with me. Only joking. Anyway, the film.

I like Romeo and Juliet, we got an afternoon off school to go see it with the English department. After studying the script in detail at higher, you appreciate it much more, and the modernisations visually to Shakespears classic metaphors worked brilliantly.

I didn't think it was. It was the way it was 'modernised' with guns and the like. I didn't think it worked. I prefer the original.

I remember what it was the bothered be. To many mincers mincing around the screen.

I don't like the way Baz makes the characters look, or act.
