Recently while watching the film Fight Club two subliminal frames have come to my attention. The first was Tyler himself who flashed on the screen near the beginning. I guessed this was to do with the fact that Tyler apparently in his job at the cinema put extra bits into the film.

However did no one spot the male genitalia before the credits? Am I going insane? Is something disturbing happening to me?!!? :D I swear it was there but am I alone?

If you look closely at the hotel video Jack is watching near the beginning, you can see Tyler saying 'Welcome!'

There's also the fact that you can clearly notice all of the "subliminal" bits i.e. they are not subliminal at all r you wouldn't know you'd seen them. Its also perfectly legal (well, it isn't illegal - which seeing as we have a negative ruling system that makes it legal) to insert any form of subliminal imagining into films - be they for the pruposes of advertising or not. It is still perfectly legal in the US to use subliminal advertising techinques in any medium - be they television, films, music, internet, whatever.

These's also some contention on the matter. Coke dressed Santa Clause in his now traditional Coke red cloak back in the 30s. This is a form of subliminal advertising yet they clearly get away with it as it would now be impossible to stop due to it entering our culture.

Only subliminal advertising yes because they are not influencing someone to buy a product.

Aren't subliminals illegal? or is that just for subliminal advertising?

First time around I thought I was imagining things.

But definately, 2nd time around the little frames are quite noticable.

Great film, my favourite ever in fact.

The photography and Storyline are both very perplexing.

There are 6 subliminals.

1st in when Jack is talking and the photocopier is going, then when he's at the doctors and some more that I forget

Has their ever been a cut version of the film?? Maybe that is why, but it is there on the DVD, and it was there when I watched it on Front Row.
