I agree it would be nice to have analogue control - would make it possible for Super Mario 64 to be properly ported to handheld - which I'd love to happen.
However, my theory is that they're going to include it in the next version of Game Boy, claim it's one of their new innovations, and people will go "wow".
However, even I know Nintendo should be including an analogue stick with this unit - therefore it might backfire on them (even if I am getting a DS anyway).

I don't care, it should have analogue.
If you're going to have 3D games, analogue is needed.
Even in 2D, they're still a lot easier to use.

Simple reason why the DS has no analogue stick:
That's what the new Game Boy will have with it's better graphics and better capabilities.

I'm glad they left off the rounded edges, now not only is it a handy portable gaming device, but also quality little bludgeon should you get mugged.
Must say it looks impressive. Still undecided whether to purchase one or not
I think it looks loads better, and all the new stuff on it is great - like the stylus holder. And I'm pleased they've kept the name, people have gotten used to it. Nintendo have a potential goldmine just waiting to be made in the DS.
