Prince of Persia 2: The Warrior Within
Following on from an awesome original, this sequel has expanded the combo's and upped the gore levels. It ran very smoothly on the console versions. The prince still has the powers of the sands of time, and I only played a 35% complete version - but well.. this game just looks superb and I'm really looking forward to it

Halo 2:
Well, the only reason I'm still keeping my Xbox, after lending it to Hybrid-Halo for a huge number of months is this game, and I played it for about 45mins. To be honest guys, I know you all can't wait for this game, but its not that great... especially compared to the likes of Doom3. Infact, compared to Doom3, Halo 2 isn't actually fun, its more like a chore, and the only reason I continued to play it was for a cool gaming moment. Sure, its more realistic, and I'm only talking about the multi-player mode I blazed on for near an hour. Its just more of the same, and again.. compared to Doom 3.... Roll on Half Life 2 I guess?

Playboy: The Game
Hehe, well I couldnt turn down going into the little Playboy Mansion that was built now could I? Interesting game, you can arrange photoshoots with
Playboy girls and you have to manage the whole Playboy empire including the magazines etc. A lot like a mix between The Sims and Sim City. Suprisingly, I was quite impressed... although I was being shown the game by two playbunnies.

Burnout 3:
Really great fun, they've improved the realism and I guess the current consoles are now finishing their run in the market, they seem to have made Burnout 3 the most realistic of all the racing games. It's a great drive and the crashes you can simulate now. Well you can crash and still continue depending on your cars damage! Great

Metroid Prime 2:
Mostly superb stuff by Nintendo, but sadly its more of the same hit and miss combination of controls incorporated into the first Metroid Prime. The audience will be very divided by this title, but the multiplayer was very Goldeneye esque. And the graphics are up there with the likes of Halo 2. However, I'm very biased towards the Metroid series, as I think the storylines are deep and immersive. Hence the preview rating being upped a few

Timesplitters 3 :Future Perfect
I thought TS2 was an excellent game, I still play it well passed its release and its a console FPS that is built to work on a console, and not try and be a PC fps. It's fun, arcadey and just insane in the multiplayer modes. I walked into the booth to play it with baited breath. All the regular characters were their, throwing themselves through portals and the whatnot. They seem to have introduced a more arcade Time Crisis feel to the series, the graphics have had a new overhaul and I'm really really looking forward to picking this up on release date.
Excellent series! Well worthy of having a couple of sequels.

Ubisoft and Nintendo put on the best shows and best booths. Crowded with people throughout the three days. After a extensive play earlier this summer of the NintendoDS - I'm really looking forward to that handhelds release... but that consoles another story!

Hope you enjoyed some of those reads :)

Half-Life 2 will be the game of whatever year it's released in.

Not too sure about what you said about UbiSoft. I recently got a dvd with previews of upcoming games on all formats. The Xbox and PS2 were level with the same games, plus a couple of exclusives for each. About 8 - 10 games each altogether, while the Gamecube had like 2 or 3.

I'm not saying Nintendo will be screwed within the week, but theres definatly a noticable decline in the third party support as time goes on. Of course this isn't a good thing either because there needs to be competition between console developers. Once theres only one left, thats when the drive goes out of the industry to innovate and advance.

I can see EA's angle mind.

I just hope it doesn't mean we never get Burnout 3...

I'm sure EA don't plan to release some top racer in March... so an ideal time to give Gamecube owners a go.

Not entirely true in this case. For starters the reason why it happened to SEGA in a big way is that they only have 5 development teams pushing out less games than Nintendo do a year. Also SEGA lost EA, the biggest third party developer in the world. SEGA had far less third party support than Nintendo do, Nintendo have almost undying support from Ubi-Soft, Capcom, Namco and EA.

With Burnout 3 we have a problem. Crition are not Nintendo fans and don't want to make a Nintendo edition, EA on the other hand publish 99% of their games for Nintendo. EA do make money from the Gamecube, Nintendo advertise EA games to ensure EA stay on board.

So EA would want the game to appear on the Gamecube. Crition presented two problems to EA. 1: The games online mode would not go ahead on the Gamecube and they see this as a major part. and 2: It will effect sales of Need for Speed: Underground 2.

EA can make money from Nintendo just not much money. By releasing a European championship football game on rival systems they can make money from that and STILL release FIFA at the end of the year and make money from that. EA feared that by releasing the European game on the Gamecube it'll mean FIFA won't sell. Simply because the Nintendo fan base can't support 2 similar football games a year. There's not enough of us.

By releasing Burnout 3 is like being your own competiton. EA should know that the sales of the original Burnout for the Gamecube were good... but releasing it a few months before another top racer is damaging.

What does this mean? Well it means we won't be getting Burnout 3... not this year at least. I don't put it beyond EA to give the code to a willing company to port it over for the Gamecube come Easter time.

Sorry I was in a rush when I posted that, but as long as the n00b isn't spamming then it doesn't matter what you call me.

Because a lot of third party developers don't see themselves making a profit on the Gamecube, so they relase less and less for the console. Hence why theres little on the shelves for the Gamecube compared to the other consoles. It happened to Sega in a big and nasty way and it looks like Nintendo are heading the smae way as time goes on.

it will just like the first 2 did, but not at the same time, we always have those games a few months later.

Series? The second game isn't out yet, it's not exactly a series. But I agree, Halo is made out as pretty much the best FPS there ever was. The offline multiplayer sucks, the levels are absolutely massive, yes, but that means it can be 10 minutes before one person actually dies. Yey. Fun.
And the single player was fun, in co-op mode, but once it was done? It was done. Why go back?

I'm not saying that TS2 is the best FPS ever, far from it, but it certainly in the top 10. The story mode is bad. Really bad, but the arcade, challenge and multiplayer modes are amazingly amazing.
They are.
