Right all wires are plugged in im online and im on a compatable server but still Xbox cant connect to Live. Iv'e made sure im using a crossover cable so basicly I have no idea whats wrong. Any ideas?

Routers suck my money away so thats out of the question. But I think when I ordered a RJ-45 crossover cable they just gave me a one way one so oh well. I have switched ISP's so im fine now and my network sharing thing is open. Basicly when I get the chance live will be back up and running!

I didn't realise it worked at all with them yet.
Also AOL is apparently a swine to get working with Live.
If it's Windows ME you are probably screwed.
Have you run the connection wizard (set up a home or small office network) on your PC?
Make sure both the pc and the xbox share the same network name. E.g MSHOME or HOME.
