Well, even if you don't like them, they've worked their way up to where they are now. They've played the crappy venues, done support slots, made up their own fan base- it's better than the Sugababes being number 1, for sure.

Writing your own music is over-rated, most of it is subconciously recycled anyway. Obviously, respect is due for playing their own instruments, but good music? That's open to conjecture.

What, a band who write their own music, play their own instruments, have worked their way up through the ranks, have a massive fanbase and make good music getting to number 1? I'm shocked, too.
