They'll probably assess PSP sales before attempting it, but with a report/interview on IGN, they reckon PSP sales made them $400 million. As that was at E3, I suspect that was US sales only.

But to my mind it's risky anyway. One year is no time at all, and to be honest, does the machine really need a HD? Anyone serious about their music is going to buy a dedicated player anyway.

Anyway, as Lost in Tokyo said, it's hardly an official announcement! :-)

not exactly a bona-fide Sony press release is it !

Firmware will always be hacked hard-drive or not ... he says stroking his White v1.50 PSP :)

It's risky, they can't afford to take the hit if it isn't picked up, and it'll help the pirates if they can adapt their firmware to take advantage (maybe that's the point though).
