It's horrible

2.53gHz processor

And it jerks while playing a song, or when moving my mouse across the screen.

Any ideas?

- run a virus scan
- run an ad scan
- defragmented it

Why?

Windows deteriorates over time. Your registry is probably full of crap.

Although my friend's computer was acting in a similar way...and his hard drive crashed. It's probably not that though.

Solution?

Format and reinstall is probably the best option really if you want a clean slate

I'm thinking it's not Windows, actually, because it's onset was rather sudden.

I'm running a SpySweeper test now, apparently it's better than that Adaware shizzle.
