So if you have an old TV with no 60hz mode, you're screwed.
Once again Nintendo shows its love for Europe....
It goes back to my argument that there is a reason for PAL TV's otherwise there would be no reason not to go NTSC with the consoles which could be packaged with voltage converters.
All you would need is a step down converter and you are away. No shi**y release dates for PAL format, no more conversion for PAL format which means more time for development.
Of course PAL 60 is slower than NTSC 60 but all the same, it would save a hell of a lot of time and would be far better.

What are you on about? It's the TVs that use the PAL signal and having a voltage converter wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.
A lot of manuals do say 50hz though even when they do support 60hz.

You can't have.
The only GC games thus far that have needed 60hz have been the Zelda bonus disks (both the one with WW and the collectors edition shiznay) as far as I know.
Meh. I have a lil TV/DVD combo thing now for Uni and that works in 60hz.
Only ancient TV's won't support it, and it means that the only conversion from NSTC to PAL necessary will be European translations.
So less bugs and loss of quality from conversions.
