he's back already, providing he stays fit i think he could well be the best striker for chelsea. He's got such quick feet (a la gudjohnsen), great touch and is easily our most predatory poacher. I really hope that he bags 5 or 6 goals at the end of the season so jose sees how sharp he is and keeps him at the club next season. Maybe send kezman on loan like smertin was to apremiership club next season to give him a chance to get more experience in the premiership, then give forssell a run. Then again if crespowas happy to return i wouldn't mind having him back too. I'd almost be tempted to risk just having crespo, drogba and forsell next season and just not bother with a fourth striker. as we have robben who could do it and probably a new right sider in the summer like wright phillips or joaquin and any of our attacking midfielders could do a job, especially as the goals come from everywhere at chelsea. Its likly crespo won't wanna return so maybe a replacement striker migh be needed but we'll see!

So you'd rather have Drogba & Crespo over Gudjohnsen? Gudjohnsen has always been great for Chelsea, one of the best strikers in the premiership, yet Crespo has been a failure in his first season there and Drogba hasn't even come close to producing the kind of quality he showed in the UEFA cup.

drogba is theoretically being given a second season to prove him. I considered Crespo's first season a big success. his strike rate to minutes on pitch was still impressive. I dunno i just never feel that confident in gudjohnsen scoring when he plays by himself up front (i know he is our top scorer). HE is more the support striker to me and we don't use one, and if we did we have plenty of playes who could do it. he seems fairly surplus to requirements to me.

Gudjohnson's strike rate backs up the view that he is a support man. Worse than one goal every 3 games in his chelsea career (was arguing the same point with someone else a few weeks back in this forum)

Crespo has proved himself to be a world class striker. Would love to see chelsea to draw milan for crespo to prove all those haters wrong.

exactly, i'll be the first to admit that crespo wasn't looking sharp at chelsea, but he did have a 3 month injury was in a new country, but avoiding those excuses, if he had that good a strike rate when not looking hugely sharp imagine how well he'd do with some form and regular starts.

hahahha. no thats putting above the players! money isn't an issue! he's on over 80000 alrady. Its just the sweetener to sign the contract, there has to b on otherwise there no point in him signing it, as its not as if job security is an issue for him!

oh and for the fourth time in the season media attempts to unsettle us fail! as its proven that not only is jose not unhappy at chelsea he wants to stay longer. muppets
