Also, I feel that many people growing up in my generation won't settle down into the nuclear family structure... things are changing.
I don't dislike kids and would really love to have some in a way, I just couldn't be bothered with the middle part. Babies/Young - Cute, loving etc then they turn into my age and turn into little gits who take your money and youth then they can put you in an old person home.
My plan for life is to have a serious of relationships, none of which tie me down forever in some cul de sac. Then when I'm fat and unattractive I shall tour the world on my savings/loans then kill myself in spectacular fashion, avoiding years of loneliness and wetting myself.
I bet in the future they'll be like "Reproduction Clincs" where people will meet a partner to raise a child without actually being in a marriage... like a more formal seperated family.
If you give in to their ''I want this'' plea's then they will learn that by demanding stuff, they normally get it.

Watch out Grix!
Just by calling it intelligent you will immediatly get people who wont go in there, partially because this isn't a culture where you dare try and be intelligent unless you can back it up and also because of the collective egos of those that post in there. There's more bitching in Life than general, it's just more arrogant and conceited, everyone trying to come out on top.
Anyway, yes potentially a really good topic that only a handful of people have taken seriously.

I had a suspicion that was the case. You've instantly gone up in my estimation as a far better person than I am; my biological imperative pretty much outweighs worthier concerns like that!

Yes, I am - I thought about it for a year or so before deciding to have it done. Any children I have would have a 50% chance of inheriting muscular dystrophy and I didn't want to take the risk.

I hear that. Obliterated posts are worthless. Occassionally I peruse the hot points. But for the most part, it's just a buncha ego gratifying malarki. Simple discussion can be intelligent. I suppose the Life forum is meant to be for "deep" and "intense" discussion? Then, I say they should change the name.
[edit] Deep & Intense..I'm liking it already. Hmm.. *looks around for Grix*

Nah, just curious as to why someone else would have it done.

Considering having it done? It seems to be a simple enough op.
