Captain Planet was guff.
I've forgotten which one had the monkey. But he was suspiciously ethnic, with a fez and a comedy waistcoat. I think. One of them was a big chunky butch angry Russian girl, who liked the lady-love (a personal theory). She had a girly power, like Water, but blatantly Fire or Earth would have suited her better and she was just angry about this.
There was definitely a monkey. He helped bring pollution down to zero. Which, when you think about it, is a rather good idea. Well done monkey.
Edit: I've forgotten what the Love guy did. I also think it was the Love guy with the monkey. Love is a crap power, I'd have jumped the Wind girl for her ring, she'd be easy to beat up. Not the butch lezza, though. She'd crush me like an egg.
