Hi people,

I have been looking on the internet for a decent guitar to buy.I have seen some very nice gutars like the BC Rich warlock and the Ironbird but I`m not sure if I hould use the internet to uy.As it is big and could get damaged in the post.Should I use The net or use a music shop? You pick so I know where to shop.

The Pacifica is an awesome guitar, saying that however, i've enver played anything else, so I can't compare.

Just don't let teh salesguy talk you into getting an amp from someone you've never ever heard of, to this day.

Behringer?

Who?

Yamaha Pacificas play much better than Squier Strats.

In my opinion, they play nicer than Fender USA Strats too...

Go to the shop to play them. Find out what you like. Then if you can find it cheaper on the net get it off the net. Otherwise just get it from the shop if its cheap there. If your worried about them getting damaged while being delivered think of this... It had to be delivered from the factory to the shop and has to get from the shop to your house. Dont worry about that side of it.

Yeah, I agree. I started out on a Squier Strat. They play well and are at a good price. The perfect beginners guitar in my opinion. :)

for a starter guitar, i like the Squier strats. they're a decent quality and not too expensive. the thing is, when you venture into the realms of budget instrumentation, the cheaper they are the more of a pain to play they tend to be. Tanglewood released a range of starter guitars a few years back while i was working in a guitar shop, we opened them up, pleayed one for 5 minutes, laughed heartily and sent them all back. utter rubbish.. £80 or not, it was garbage.

Go to a guitar shop. Best to try a few out before buying one.

If you are a total novice then take a mate who knows how to play or ask the guys in the shop to play a bit so you can listen to the sound quality of them.

I`ve just found an Encore for £75 it`s a full kit,Amp,strap, wires and even the guitar.I know the internet shopping is cheaper but I`m not sure if the guitar would be good quality.

hehe, they're not so wallet-friendly ;)

oh, i'd suggest avoiding BC Rich guitars and things of similar design unless you're already a fairly competant player. they're quality guitars, but the shape makes them a bit of a pain to play and it can be frustrating if you're just starting to learn as it's really just one more obstacle to deal with.
