Ideally you'd go to a music store, try and few and pick one you like. However if you're a beginner then you're unlikely to know what you like/don't like. I'd probably still recommend going to a music store, though.

whereas i recommend buying a guitar from a florists.

he's right thogh, go play a few, even if yo don't know much, just try a few and see what feels comfortable. don't buy Encore guitars at all or tanglewood ones if they're under £100.

hehe, they're not so wallet-friendly ;)

oh, i'd suggest avoiding BC Rich guitars and things of similar design unless you're already a fairly competant player. they're quality guitars, but the shape makes them a bit of a pain to play and it can be frustrating if you're just starting to learn as it's really just one more obstacle to deal with.

I`ve just found an Encore for £75 it`s a full kit,Amp,strap, wires and even the guitar.I know the internet shopping is cheaper but I`m not sure if the guitar would be good quality.

Go to a guitar shop. Best to try a few out before buying one.

If you are a total novice then take a mate who knows how to play or ask the guys in the shop to play a bit so you can listen to the sound quality of them.

for a starter guitar, i like the Squier strats. they're a decent quality and not too expensive. the thing is, when you venture into the realms of budget instrumentation, the cheaper they are the more of a pain to play they tend to be. Tanglewood released a range of starter guitars a few years back while i was working in a guitar shop, we opened them up, pleayed one for 5 minutes, laughed heartily and sent them all back. utter rubbish.. £80 or not, it was garbage.
