Tom Hanks plays a fantastic role... he is mocked and laughed at... but it is he who gets the last laugh.

I mean when you see the film you'll realise it is the most depressing pointless part of the film. The entire romantic thing though is used to introduce someone suffering the corporate world of america.

Just finished watching it. Good film.
The accent is there to make the film a comedy.
From what I've seen, I don't think I could stand to watch an entire film listening to Hanks' ridiculous accent.

Yeah, well a fair few English people don't like American films because we Brits are portrayed as either painfully stupid with a fake accent, or horrible people who wouldn't spit on someone who was on fire.
The Americans didn't like it because it showed them what they were really like.
