I can picture waitin' in line for that

*shivers*

Whilst I'm here, might aswell ask something constructive: did anyone ever play the 3D Gta on PC. It may ave just been onthe sold out release but I remember there being a 3D mode that I couldn't play dueto the fact my graphics card was shabby and shakey when playing back video.

Difference:

GTA allows, almost encourages, the killing of innocent people, complete with blood, gore, screaming and swearing. House of the Dead encourages you to save innocent people (who shed no blood should they be killed) by shooting (not killing, because zombies are already dead) rampaging zombies who have green blood, if I remember correctly. What seems worse in the eyes of an OAP/Christian/Miserable old git? Saving people or beating/shooting/stabbing/slashing/crushing/chainsawing people to death? Plus HOTD contains no bad language, drug abuse or sexual references.

So cut those out and have a High Scores board for destruction.

That's all me and brother used to do on the GTA demo: see how much damage we could cause because the missions were really rather boring in 2D.

It's pretty obvious that a simplified/sandbox only version would be good fun as an arcade game.

go play Smash TV. aside from environment, it's exactly what you're describing.
i agree that the fun of GTA is free roaming and getting up to no good, but again i can't see this working on an arcade machine. would you do it my time limit where you get time bonus for blowing stuff up for example? my main gripe with the idea is that the games would take too long and arcade games are supposed to generate revenue, which they can't if only 3 people get to play before the arcade shuts :)

They should make another GTA London which would be much better from the origional. It wouldn't exactly compete with The Getaway because you can't do much killing at your own free will in that game.
GTA London would be the all time greatest GTA if it was released again.
Imagine the things you could do, get a ride in the London eye, steel a double decker and run 'bobbys' over and parachute off canary whalf.
Brill.

Easy - increase the difficulty, always have the cops on at least one star of alertness and make it 20p per life. :)

That would be great but they should make it 3D.

I think that was implied by his post.

It's unlikely anyway. I sure as hell don't want to roam around London anymore. The Getaway has taught me that it's an incredibly dull city.

It might be a bit better with a touch of that Rockstar class, but I'd rather the series went in a new and original direction.

GTA Birmingham? Shoot up the Bullring and parachute off the BT tower anyone?

Yeah that would be great and watch the people on the phone on the way down.
