It probably won't be 19 hours. It usually picks up in speed given time. Set your maximum uploads as high as possible until you get a decent download rate, then gradually drop the uploads lower and lower to about 5-20. This usually helps keep the download speeds up.
blimey what are you downloading that's taking 19 more hours?

Ya i found bittorent pretty confusing aswell..
All mine ever does is 'connect'... Never actually get onto the downloading bit.
What client are you using?
BitTorrent is easy. I've had it over a year, you're all slow AND dumb :0D
