Actually, my experience of scotland is that it's a lovely place. Spent a week in Inverness with my girlfriend a few years back and it was great, although we're not 'clubbers', and didn't really go into the town late at night. The people we met were really nice though, and we saw Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee just walking around the street like it was normal. He was in a cape.

So in conclusion:
Scroatland = good
Sex and the City = ugly

Doesn't matter how crap it is, hate songs are 'in' at the moment, you'll be number 1 in no time and making millions.
