And after being shot a good few times but being able to walk around first and tell his story before finally pegging it. That's what i loved about this, japanese people are so tough, they can take a good clip full of ammo to the body yet can hang on for 5 minutes, tell their story and THEN die.

I don't have the time to read books.

Yeah, but at first when the chopper takes of, and the military leave.
RIGHT?
READ THE GOD DAMN BOOK IT WAS BASED ON.
Book = Film + 10.
Wasn't he killed? That'd explain why he doesn't leave...

The phone call to him from his daughter earlier on - he had no home to return to, did he? Suppose he'd just given up all hope.
It was a good bit of subtle irony, I think, because the whole thing is about how youths disrespect the adults and so on, and that's clear when they're all in that hall together - he goes on about how he was mugged etc etc.
And so it was like, even his own daughter - a youth he had raised - disrespected him (though granted, we don't know the story to it. It may have been his fault or something).

Ahahaahahah.
You've no idea how stupid you look saying that.
I just finished watching it 10 minutes ago, and it was most excellent indeed. It's also the first foreign film I've watched right through, whether it be with dubbing or subtitles.
Yes, I am most satisfied indeed.
It was superbly done - everything pieced together so well. And the numbering of the kids and having it on the screen was a really good touch I thought - it seems like nothing, but it throws a completely new light on it all.
Yes, superb stuff.
Aha.
Spoiler indeed.
I loved at the end when they were charged with murder. Irony at it's best.
They're hardly going to kill each other are they.
