Following on from that 'what is worst news' topic, i've just come up with something rather interesting.
Given a choice of only these 6, which would you prefer?
Death by Heat? (fire n' stuff)
Death by Cold? (snow, ice)
Death by Drowning?
Death by Suffocation?
Death by 10-Ton weight?
Death by Firing Squad? (shotgun up the nostril)
My answer is death by firing squad. Quick, no-nonsense, plus to get a death sentence like that I'd have had to have done something rather fun!

It's not very likely though, there aren't any monsters big enough. It would be similar to dissolving in acid anyway.
I think it would be more frightning if you were digested while still alive, spiders do it to feed their young since they need fresh meat and blood.
Yeah a big cat would tear your throat out first. A shark would be bad though, although they'd probably take a chunk and then leave you to bleed to death or drown (guessing you can't swim with one leg)

Well, just think about it - being tore up by the jaws of a tiger or something, and then having limbs munched inside it's jaws.
Or is it instinct to kill before eating?

What about the scene in 28 Days later where she's hacking away at him for ages and he's still alive enough to continue screaming. I think being butchered like that would be the most painful.

What about a python that doesn't make you unconscious before it decides to eat you alive (with some air pocket trapped in it's body that lasts for hours, you will feel everything of the digestive process until you cannot feel at all.
