Perfect Dark 0 is to be released in the states for $49.99 with the special edition being $59.99

For those not too great in conversions that is the exact same R.R.P as current generation video games.

I hope it translates over here.

If it's a launch title I'll be buying it for whatever price I have to, afterall I'll need something to play when I get the 360. Otherwise I'll wait until I can get it 2nd hand.

That was the case anyway... as far as the US is concerned, they're paying the same for 360 games as they ere XBOX games.

The given price excludes Tax. so they're going to be paying even more.

I think I'll be buying games second hand for the 360. I don't think any game is worth £30 anymore, the only exception I'll make is Grand Theft Auto.

I'd check Microsoft's wording before getting your hopes up.
Anybody that's been to the States for the 1st time will have experienced the confusion of taking an item to the till that says "$9.99" only to charged $10.89 (for example).
"Er...$9.99 isn't it?"
"Tax"
"Huh?"

They add the tax on seperately depending on which state your in, so unless I'm mistaken - entirely possible on this one - Microsoft can say a retail of $49.99 and that's what'll appear on the tag, but the taxes will push it over.
An American mate was amazed at being charged exactly what was on the tag when he came over, it blew his tiny mind.

Well when Microsoft said it'd retail at $49.99 I imagine it'd retail at $49.99...

And that is what games go for at the moment. So there is hope that the games prices are not over priced.

Pfffft, our VAT means we're going to get hosed as per usual.
Do the US prices include state sales taxes or is that the standard RRP?
