I decided to get my Club 77 PC upgraded, from a quite slow 500Mhz to something with a little more Ooompf! I rang the PC World Technical support number a few days ago and they said I would be able to get it upgraded to a 1.5Ghz Celeron with 256Mb Ram and a 64Mb Graphics card, with the addition of a new motherboard for around £250. Upon arrival at my nearest PC World today, i was told by a man there that they didn't even sell 1.5 Celerons, and it would certainly cost more than £350. They advised buying a new PC altogether which really annoyed me as I had a years warranty left! They said to play games I would need 1.7Ghz at least, over 256Mb Ram an really expensive motherboard etc. I think that is far too extreme. So what do you guys think I should do? Where do you get you PC's upgraded? Should I buy a new one or should I complain to the PC World Tech department? Thanks

Plus the filesystem needs space to be a filesystem too.

When you format a hard drive it uses part of the drive's space for it's file allocation table so it will never be exactly the size you purchase it at.

Most large drives wont be exactly what they claim to be and may be a few gigs out, usually depends on how they where formatted, and different stages in the manufacture seem to affect it.

I had a similar prob with my PC, I ordered 80Gb HDD, and recieved a 76.2Gb HDD. They also supplied a different wireless KB and Mouse to what I ordered.

Dont buy anything from them. Especially pc's.

They lie. Told my parents that this box was a 300Mhz Cyrix II. What is it? a 233Mhz. 3Gig HDD? No, 2 actually.

Probably lied about the screen size too.

I recommend you take a look at novatech.co.uk as they have a decent range of products, and are also reasonably cheap ;)
