Our tree is now up. Well, I say tree, it's only about 3 foot tall and has to stand on a table to be seen, but we don't really have space for a proper sized one this year with the Guinea Pigs taking up the space where the old one used to sit.
That's enough for now, the other decorations go up nearer to Christmas. It's enough for the kids that they have a tree, Advent Calendar and a Nativity Scene that they can gradually add figures to.
The kids, of course, are constantly looking at catalogues and shelves of toys every time we go shopping. There's so much stuff these days it's unhealthy.
Our Christmas day will involve being at home and relaxing (for the most part) while the kids play with their new toys (if they've been good). Boxing Day is the trip down to the parents' house. The thing I'm looking forward to most is a break from work, though.
Anyone else got their decorations up or holidays planned?
Getting back OT, Xmas movies starting to play this weekend (or some already if you count Mrs. Doubtfire). Yay to this!
I might shock & awe you all with a picture of my decorations this year.
I look forward to it :)
Lets see what you guys can come up with in terms of Xmas avatars. No stock avatars, use your current avatar or one you have used previously ( or a new one if you don't have one).
Think I might even have a spare prize for the one we like the most.
The nursery are putting on a christmas play on the 20th, 2 days later I get my hearing aid, the day after I am off to the inlaws for christmas... and no doubt be taking the hearing aid out within an hour!
1. No room in reality
2. Wouldn't put one where the dog plays incase anything happened to him while unsupervised and considering the whole house is his play area - well you get the idea.
Never have xmas dinner as there are only two of us and we never feel like eating it or clearing up when we get back from the pub.
On saying that I wouldn't like to leave you with the impression that I don't like Christmas. I love seeing all the big decorations in the shops and the whole atmosphere of it.
Already had the works xmas dinner. There is nothing weirder then hearing Chrismas songs in November! Immediate family will come see me enmass between Xmas and New Year so I can give the children their presents.
This Friday is the best day of Xmas though. My friend and I go shopping and we have this down to a fine art. Approx. 1 hour shopping and 8+ hours socialising - dependant upon when we fall over :)
3 more days until my work Christmas party.
6 more days until small work dinner for our group.
18 more days until Christmas
Boss (well, old boss but the one on site anyway) got the go-ahead for some money towards us all going out for a meal and then I got it booked but then she realises that she's away on that day. We can't do the meal any other day because it's the only day the rest of us are all in. Oh well.
