The US Senate says Galloway profitted from Iraqi oil.
Galloway flies over to appear before them and answer their questions. And says what an awful lot of people have been saying since before the landgrab.

""The difference is Donald Rumsfeld met him to sell him guns and maps - the better to target those guns. I met him to try to bring about an end to sanctions, suffering and war," he said."

The accusations levelled against him was the "mother of all smokescreens", he said.

The biggest sanctions busters were American companies "with the connivance" of the US government.

Mr Galloway denied being an apologist for the former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

He said he had been a long-term opponent of Saddam, and had a much better record of opposition to the Iraqi leader than members of the American or British governments."

Galloway is being questioned by the same senate that also reports the US "turned a blind eye to smuggled oil"

"He did well, though I remember the footage of him meeting Saddam, and he had the look of a humble, in awe servant about him."

Saddam used to personally take people outside and shoot them in the head, so I think a little humility was the custom when meeting him!

Apparently he got 10,000 e mailed messages of support after his speech and now an american promoter has been in touch to set up a US lecture tour which will allow him to capitalise on his growing anti war support in America. Should be interesting if he agrees to do it.

The charities commission say they're going to re-investigate whether he used charity funds for personal use. Again. After having already cleared him.

Seems that our masters lack the imagination to even come up with fresh smears...

It seems the American press have taken a liking to him after looking through some of the news sources, the BBC still seem against him though.

Unlike when Rumsfeld met him, with the Cheshire cat "That's right, buy our shiny weapons my new friend" look.

I can't pretend to like Galloway, i've always thought he had something of the devil in his eyes and i wouldn't be suprised if the allegations were true but even i smiled at that, it's about time someone high profile actually spoke up about the utter hypocrisy of what is the most corrupt elected government on the planet. Fair play to him and i hope he's not finished yet.

The best they could come up with afterwards:

"I think that Mr Galloway's credibility is certainly very suspect."

Guffaw.

It was excellent, they're so used to mindless Americans crumbling at their feet.
