Also feels rushed in places. Gameplay is fine, but some of the cut-scenes are just terrible, with some real pop-up issues with polygons near the front of the scene. Only explanation is that they rushed it, or they've tried to push the machine too far.

'Tis a good point, but have you reached Sacred Icon yet on Halo 2? ...
Piston, Flood, Sentinels...

No, it wasn't a disappointment. Whilst it didn't live up to the hype (no game could ever live up to the hype that this got) it's still a very, very good game.

What they don't tell you is that Master Chief is in fact a 96 year old pensioner who got lose on his way to the post office and is now an intergalactic bounty hunter or whatever he is.
Hurrah.
Dissapointment (lengthwise and storywise) offline
Excelled expectations online.
It was too short. Not because it didn't take too long to complete, but because the story finnishes half way through.. it's like part 1 of a 2 part series. You just yearn for more!
I felt a few parts of the game were too similar to the first - in the same way the plot of The Return of the Jedi is a little too alike A New Hope (Oooo, let's build another Death Star!). Some of the levels had a distinct feeling of being lifted from the last game.
Some parts of the game were too disorganised.. I just got annoyed running through dark corridors as fast as I could to avoid the same old enemies.
But still, and awesome games.

Yeah, what the hell is up with how slow the characters move in Halo?
