Forwarding as in they were being sent to news@ so I just setup web forwarding to forward any email to news@ to [email protected]

Those were the emails that automatically downloaded the virus as soon as you viewed them in the preview bit unless you had a patched system.
And what does forwarding the emails do? They still come to you originally...
I joined a newsgroup and soon after I started getting loads of emails that looked like Microsoft emails telling me to run the WindowsUpdate file attached to the email. Could easily have fooled some people. So I just forwarded all mail to that address to [email protected] - I really pity the person who has that address, I use it for all my fake forms and stuff.
