I load up Half-Life 2 Deathmatch and it loads fine and I then click on server and it loads up a list of servers fine. Then when it is loading the game and error message appears saying "The instruction at "0x2406dc53" referenced memory at "0x011011cc". The memory could not be "read" Click OK to terminate the program. the same happens in Counter-Strike Source, they both were running fine yesterday I don't understand why this is happening, Any surgestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had the problem, except it would randomly crash in game. It could happen after I'd been playing for hours, or minutes. It was very annoying. Eventually I managed to get rid of it by increasing my CPU voltage :/ which isn't exactly ideal.

OK thanks for the help fingers crossed

I also did what a person on the Steam forum said to do which was to start up steam click play games, then right click on counter strike source, then click properties, then click Launch Options and type

in -novideo +mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0 +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1

this seems to be working for me (I HOPE)

thanks again

if you google for "counter strike source memory error" or similar you should come across a huge number of possible fixes, but there is no guarantee that any of them will work.

I have a similar problem when the server list loads up, but mine just freezes so I have to restart the PC. Try going into the game through Steam instead of going through the game itself. Always works for me.

sounds like you're suffering from the dreaded memory error.
Or maybe your RAM actually does have errors. Probably not though.
