When I click on HL2 it comes up with you are not on the internet. Then it has a big box saying Play offline. i clicked and it came up with a message saying you are not online then it quits.
Steam is a good idea, but the idea was poorly realised. My main argument against it is that you get very little to no help when something goes wrong, which it does regularly.
Steam is quite a big load of nonsense. What is the point of it? It makes me sick.
Did help alot with the anti-piracy for a week too.

You managed to buy the game at 13 years of age? Well, good on ya! I am one of the unfortunates who had HL2 preordered, but which infuriatingly serves no better purpose than a rather expensive frisbee at the moment. I loathe Steam with a vengeance, and I loathe Valve for caring so little about such a huge percentage of their users.
Steam was designed to cut down on piracy, but the only function it has served is to stop thousands of legitimate users actually playing the damn thing!!
