Is there anyway to change or modify the mousepointers that someone uses when they come onto your site. Say if i was doing a music site, could i change the mouse pointer to a small guitar or something? Cheers.

Yup, Go to dynamic drive, they have some custom scripts although they are browser specific. http://tinyurl.com/3bbx9

Custom pointers annoy the hell out of me.

Don't use them.

Ever.

defo use dynamic drive, they have everything you need. they can even change the cursor when in different areas of a page, eg a hand over a button and stuff.

DHTML goes right over my head, but its only cut and paste

Custom cursors suck huge! It's hard enough setting up system cursor styles in CSS, cross platform, let alone allowing some idiot to take over you point device with some cheesy, badly drawn animated sprite sprite!

That's right!

On the right kind of site they make things a little less mundane and your ones are quite subtle.

Can you make the black square on the hand transparent? Also you appear to have a couple of script errors.
