Demos....

Destroy all humans - It's like the computer game of Mars Attacks. Was looking forward to this and even though the demo isn't particuarly long or exciting I'm still gonna get it. Like the visuals and the style of it and the videos at the end of the demo looks a hell of a lot of fun.

Worms 4 : Mayhem - Excellent! It's a more polished version of Worms 3D with a ton more weapons and a load more customisation options. Making your own team of worms is excellent, I made a team of Cowboys. Definetly gonna get this when it comes out.

Lego Star Wars - Nice ideas but a bit boring really.

Moto GP3 - Never liked the previous 2 games and from what I played this is exactly the same.

CT Special Forces - Absoloutly awful! If they want to sell crap like this they really should never have made a demo for it, it's hardly likely to make people want the full game.

Rugby 2005 - Interests me about as much as getting prostate cancer, so I didn't play it.

Oh and the magazine sucks as usual.

Got round to looking at it:

Moto GP -

The AI is obviously tweaked on the GP mode to let you win. I slowed down ridiculously slow and the chain of bikes behind me slowed down too until I was going even slower and then they overtook.

The Extreme mode was a bit of fun although I suck at cornering and you can't knock other riders of their bikes so that's half the fun of Live gone right there.

Don't think I'll ever get it.

Rugby -

Couldn't be bothered. It's EA so I don't want to like it and the easiest wayto do that that is to not play it at all. :D

Worms 4 -

Glorious return to form, I thought forts was great but this has bigger explosions (like the old 2d ones) and damage is back to what it should be (ie lots for putting dynamite right up someone's nose etc). The whole thing now reeks of fun and happiness.

Lego Star Wars -

Easy hack and slashing but without the style-depth of Fable. Not good, not good at all.

Destroy All Humans -

They should have released this BEFORE Mercenaries as Mercenaries seems to make better use of the engine. I think this is a 'pick up when cheap' one.

CT Special Forces -

This'll be £10-£15 and I think I'll grab it. It doesn't do anything particularly original but it's graphics seem styled on MGS 2 but there's more running around blowing things up than being sneaky. Plenty of weapons and loads of ammo for the explosive ones which makes a refreshing change. I like the shield idea it works well, the explosons and grenade throws work well and I picked them up straight away. It all seems a little easy - so I don't get why one of the mags was saying it was too hard. They must have tried to run through the levels rather than check hiding places behind them. This has the all important fun factor and blowing the crap out of everything is definately good fun in this game.

Xbox Live Arcade -

I expected these games to be downloadable for about £1.50 each but they want £7.50 to £11+ for each one. MS Are taking the pee. Never in a million years am I paying 7.50 for a re-hashed Space Invaders etc. Utter UTTER rubbish!!

Good Halo 2 movies, liked the circleing rockets and glitches. Didn't watch the dull PGR2 Kudos 'wowee score' movies. Rallisport one was quite fun.

Painkiller looks interesting from the movie and they obviously want people to jism over their physics engine.

Pretty good value in that it's saved me a lot of cash with those demos.

The Destroy All Humans demo was excellent although very shortlived. Some amusing asides and the usual 'demo quality' about it

The Play:More section was genuinely atrocious, yet another Riddick demo where someone was shooting a corpse, granted it was better than last months' but still, who cares ?

The Halo 2 themed Play:More is getting very boring now, with spinning Warthogs and climbing out of levels getting very tedious, never mind though, they'll block Halo 2 videos as they did for Halo

Long live censorship of the media, that brought as such 'classics' as Heartbeat, watched by those without one ...

Jonah Lomu... always wanted that game, depsite only playing a 2 player only demo on the ps1.

It was utter gold. Though I hate rugby.

For a Rugby game, Rugby 2005 is brilliant. It's the most playable Rugby game I've played since Jonah Lomu on the PC many years ago.

CT Special Forces is going to be 10 quid soon. It was made in a year so I was keeping an eye on it as it was intriguing. I like their ideas.

Got the mag today so I'll give it a go.

There'sa similar thing coming out (weapons of mass destruction something) which looks similar but is crammed full ofthings that make me think 'Goldeneye'. It looks a bit simple but this could be fun too.
