This decision comes after FIFA ordered the player to play 11 million dollars for leaving the Turkish team without a reason.

11 million dollars, just for leaving your club because they are being out of order. fenerbanche should hate themselves as they will now get nothing out of this, and they have disposed of a brilliant player who had many years left. what a shame

It's a shame he was forced to retire. But he was forced to pay the money due to a botched transfer, so it's the club's fault.
Man Utd wanted him a few years back, too. Shame the move never came off really.
