At first the sims wasn't really that bad but then they really did take it too far with all of these expansions. Sims 2 is supposed to be in 3d which might add something new to the game.

To EA's credit, they did a bang up job on the Secret Weapons expansion for Battlefield 1942, much better than the rather unspectacular Road to Rome add-on. In fact if they just spend a little more time with these expansions then maybe they can make something worthy of my £20, instead of something that just fills the gap for about 2 hours.

Rather pleasingly though is that my sister doesn't seem that interested in the Sims anymore so will doubtfully be getting that new expansion. Saves me a bit of hard drive space.

Oh, and Need For Speed: Underground looks great, in fact despite one or two duds the need for speed series has always been quite a fun set of game, so hopefully Underground will expand on the series a bit more.

I get the feeling I've read a topic like this in another fourm. I wonder why?

I think that's partly due to the fact (according to research) the Sims is very popular with women.

There's nothing wrong with making money out of games, it's just the fact this is a shyte game.

Because to make a new Sims add on, all they have to do is go onto a few websites, download a few things, change them slightly to avoid copywrite issues and then stick them all on a patterned CD. Cheap and quick. And for some reason, they sell.

The whole franchise sucks. EA are just trying to make money out of selling add-ons to obessive idiots who like tedious games.

And there's a second one coming out as well, which means even more expansion packs. WHY Do they have to waste time on this rubbish, and not make a new Need for Speed??? :(

"Bustin' Out" is the sequel to the console versions of "The Sims" (I think)

AoE's expansion packs are fairly respectable though. The Sims' aren't.

Of course it is a con. Its like other games that release "expansion packs" like AOE, just to get you to pay more.
