is hated by Canadians. The vast majority think they are loud, brash, boastful and extremely annoying. And I have to say I agree.

Very true. In fact I know that some Americans would go as far as to say that they hate Canadians as well. Alot of it is due to the fact that they didn't take part in the Iraq War.

My Canadian relatives are English people with slow accents.
My American relatives are friendly, welcoming and stupid.

It's hard to choose a favourite

Interestingly enough, the Canadians are not exactly adored by their United neighbours themselves.

Nothing irritates me more than any American shouting "have a nice day!" at me.

I lived in the States for 2 years a while back and the majority of people were kind, polite people who made me feel very welcome every time they heard i was from England. The women were far nicer then over here and definitly not as common as the majority i've had the 'luck' to run into.
Of course you get the odd muppets who have their heads up their ass about America and don't believe there's another country in the world but tell me a country where that isn't the case. I know we have them over here and infact quite a few of them are on this very board spouting their anti-american rubbish almost daily without actually having lived over there. But ah well ignorance is bliss as they say.

Also it was very nice to actually have some customer service for once. The staff were courteous and always willing to help with whatever you wanted, unlike over here with 'Doreen' with the fag on the end of her mouth asking *what do you want, hurry up will you i haven't got all day*

My dad also got lost one night and ended up in a ghetto in Philadelphia

I've never been but my dad went on business a few times and said they're one of the friendliest group of people.

Although there is a small minority that have their head up their backsides

Or to put Dr Duck's main point in a way more of you will be less biased to, it'd be like saying England was represented by Eastenders/Coronation Street and Tony Blair.

I mean, we're not really a nation of loud mouthed, sleep with every member of the opposite sex on the same street, live in the pub every night, slobs with a penchant for spin.
