Looks like a member of the Black Widow family of spiders has settled in the UK and there are some in Devon by the looks of it.
While the story initially seems more frightning than it is due to some journalistic licencing "The False Widow, a purple and black creature with a body the size of a 1p piece, is said to carry enough venom to kill a human.", later on it says that it doesn't kill.
Still, with climate change thought to be responsible for this, I wonder what other 'delightful' animals may end up on our shores?
Pfff damn that! If they have known about it for that long why have they not done something. Stop importing banana's!! If this "climate change" is as real as they say we should be able to grow our own in Devon anyway!
I can't even stand the cobweb spiders we have in our house, so knowing there are a few of these beasts running around the area, I'll be checking the loo bowl before I go anywhere near it!
Machie - looks like the sheds in you area are under attack!
