Is there a way that if someone right clicks on them I can protect them as I have found on some other sites? (Not that I was trying to nick their pics !) I dont realy want to watermark them.
if you use Picassa 3 the google associated image programme - which is free - there is an option to place a watermark on your pics before uploading them. I haven't tried that yet but it's a brilliant bit of software.

The reality is once I view an image on your website, theres already a full copy of it in the browser cache for me to use. If I dont want to go wandering in the browser cache then I can just view the page source and get the url of the image. Or I can start up Opera which wont let you disable right click at all. So I can steal away to my hearts content. Its essentially false security.
All you're really doing is annoying people who legitimately want to use the context menu,
