It might sound stupid nut how do you control the helicopter properly? If anyone can help let me know cheers.
The helicopter is real hard to control but with the Lb and Rb buttons u can turn the helicopter with out losing control
The way I do it* is to be gentle on the acceleration (which makes you go up) and gently tilt the left control stick forward.
If you want to turn, stop accelerating and use the R and L shoulder buttons to turn.
It's tricky but enjoyable when you get the hang of it.
