Hi Guys,

I'm fairly new at Freeola and I'm thinking about making a server, I just want to know where to start? I want to make a web server, maybe a mail server, maybe game server, media server etc etc. I just want to learn about server's basically. So where should I start gimme some advice!

I've only ever made a server out of my PC by installing Apache, PHP and MySQL and letting it do the rest.

There is quite a lot of documentation on each of the above web sites about setting it all up, though it may not be a good idea on a PC with valuable stuff on, as letting others access your machine via the web without it being set-up properly or protected isn't something I'd recommend.
