The Perfect Game.

My idea of a perfect game would be an online masterpiece like Ultima Online or Everquest. Only in first person, and it uses the full screen (not like everquest!). The world is ten times bigger than in Everquest, and there's everything. Sea's, Rivers, Mountains, life under and over-ground, caves, deserts, jungles, forests, and even swamps. You control the game with a control system like the FPS Half-Life. Insted of having to do all the travelling by feet, there are methods of transport, trains, planes, boats, where instead of riding your own animals and the like, you can pay a fee to catch a train, or even a plane!

There are loads of different speachies, from household pets to massive fire breathing dragons. The game would still have a Dungeons and Dragons style theme but things from the future like the transport methods above, and even guns as well as swords, axes and spears. The are different armies for different countries and if you don't want to have a normal job in this world, (blacksmith, gold mining, merchant trading etc). You could enlist in the army and help fight wars againts other countries or even other planets.

If the stress gets to you, you could even stop at a local bar and have a drink, while doing this you could socialise with other people in the bar by chatting over the internet. You could choose to be an explorer, even a fisherman, and every time the designers thought of something new they could make it downloadable off the internet! You could also earn yourself a bad reputation by being a thief, a murderor, or just an evil emperor! If you are really good in the game and do loads of good deeds, you could be offered a place as a mayor, or even a king. And you get to make up your own rules!

You could be a fisherman and go out and catch fish from the sea's and then sell them to markets and stools. You could do any job you can think of that would be possible in that world!

You can catch monsters and breed them and use them in war against other people, if you catch a dragon while it's still young, or even un-hatched, and train up untill there big dragons you could sell them to the army or use them as transport, (only if you train them to fly). You can buy houses and place them wherever you want, you might find a nice little deserted island, although....that brings me onto my next part! They might have barbarians on!!! You can be whatever sort of person you want to be, like a barbarian, and then choose what you want to look like.

There are loads of secret places on the game, you could buy scooba diving gear and go under the sea and find an old sunken ship, (there are even pirates!), and it might be full of mermaids!! You could even take a photo of them and sell it!!!! Infact this game is so realistic, you can even get arrested or taken to court.

Every single animal or even person, or alien , or anything, is catchable, huntable, fightable, and even sellable. The thing that's really different is the detail, even though that's what these games were famous for. My idea of a perfect game would be so detailed you would prefer it to real life! You can buy anything, even a camera, if you buy a camera you can take pictures of nice things, like waterfalls, feilds, people etc. You can even buy frames for them. It's basically Everquest, with a full screen picture, and more like the Final Fantasy world, (which is basically like Everquest only with hints from the future(guns etc) and even more detailed!). There are thousands of weopons, including different types of: Swords, knifes, guns, bombs etc.

When I say first-person, I mean like Half-Life. Well, more like the fourth coming game; Eternal Ring, which looks amazing only it's not online. The scenery is comepletely interactable, you can set fire to wood, melt ice, destroy buildings with weopons and shape the landscape in various ways. As well as a day-to-night system there are also different seasons, when it's winter it snows, when it's summer you get hot.

You have lots of different types of health bars, you have ones telling you your overall health, ones telling you how hot or cold you are, ( if you are too cold you have to warm up). There are even ones to say how hungry you are so you know when to feed yourself, if you don't your health slowly drops. You can set up a camp fire anywhere and make a tent, and you could hunt for meat. Or you could go back to your house to cook it, (if you have one), when you choose your character you can choose to be a traveller or camper, or you could buy a house and do that anyway. Over the whole massive world there are wars and battles going on regurlarly. To make teaming up with people and going on adventures more fun, there are loads of myths and legends, for example there could be rumours spreading that theres an evil dragon, who actually is controlled by the spirit of an evil sorceress, you and your willing townspeople could go on a quest to bring back the head of the dragon. Or there could be a magical stone which gives someone magical powers, you could find it to save your town from defeat against some evil people, if you do this you will forever be known as a hero, and maybe get some reward money so you could buy your own little remote island somewhere.

If you drink too much ale, you could could get drunk and your vision can go blury and your very weak against attacks.

I am estimating RPGs like this will be around in about two years. Wouldn't they be so fun, I dream of games like this. I like ultima-online and Everquest, but I can't wait till the day they are like this. What would your perfect game be?

Does anyone know what (if anything) is happening with the Thief spin-off? Before they went bankrupt LookingGlass were talking about making a modern day thief game... maybe cat-burgerlaresq?!?! But whatever, Its sounded like the Thief I wanted from the start (start of shop lifting, move to robbing banks! :) ) ... Equally I heard Eidos wanted them to carroy a few games over to their now stable (Ion Storm).... Has it been dumped?

I don't think that mis-placed topics should be allowed to win Gameaday.

New Game Ideas.

Just like reviews shouldn't win if posted as a discussion.

Personally I lost interest in the post when I couldn't figure out what 'speachies' were ;-)
