Gah.

Taken from the Beeb:

Holders Real Madrid will face Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Sir Alex Ferguson's men will be away to the Spanish giants - nine-times winners of the competition - in the first leg of the double header.

The pairing against Real will see European football's two biggest names go head-to-head for the fourth time.

Whoever goes through from the tie will then face Juventus or Barcelona in the semi-finals.

Inter Milan face Valencia, Ajax Amsterdam play AC Milan, Juventus play Barcelona in the other quarter-finals.

Quarter-final draw

1. Real Madrid v Manchester United
2. Inter Milan v Valencia
3. Ajax v AC Milan
4. Juventus v Barcelona

If Juve play at their top form, we *should* go through.
Barcelona don't seem to be at top form at the moment, but you never know.
Should be a close game, but hopefully Juve shall prevail as the winners.

Real Madrid manager Vicente Del Bosque said he was happy at getting Man United in the Quarter Finals.

He said he didn't want to face Spanish opposition, and the only teams he could get were Valencia, Barcelona or Man United.

So he was happy. :-)

Yes, but United have a strong team- if there are no injuries they can field this lot.

Barthez
Silvestre Ferdinand Brown G. Neville
Giggs Veron Keane(c) Beckham
Scholes
Van Nistlerooij

All full internationals, as are most of the players who make up the bench.

Well, I think it was inevitable that we would end up facing Real in the quarter finals. It's going to be difficult, they have so many world class players and we will have to up a gear or two. All the ties look pretty mouth watering and whoever wins it in the end will no doubt deserve it.

I guess its somthin to do with the shortened version being barca.

And most people pronounce it bar-sar-lona so i guess its just natural.

Why do so many people have a problem spelling Barcelona?

It's not difficult.
