Have a killer Racoon hanging from the celling that drops down on to the guy's head. Then he's blinded momentarily as the racoon is in his face and cannot get the racoon of him. Then the guy that's got to capture him comes in and jabs him in the neck with a tranquillizer pen.
There we have it. Man captured and not desperate as he was binded by a racoon. Original - partly, surprising - yes.
