It's quite simple really, we sleep for ages, letting our intestines rot so much, making us smell like socks after running around playing football for 2 hours in them.....
Perhaps it's cos they spend so much time in EB/Game. I've never been in a branch that doesn't stink. All over the UK, and in several states of the USA.
I reckon they pipe the stench in to give it a bonafide videogamer feel.
