Hello,I would just like to ask you all how much a PC capable of playing games such as Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 would cost.I really know nothing of this whole graphics card malarky but since I am purchasing a new computer I would like some help in what type of thing I would need to get.

I would greatly appreciate any information.Cheers.

Cheers for the help.I'm not really interested in putting together a PC because I'm lazy and I'm not going to be able to put it together as I have no knowledge or experience of this.

I have only recently started to play PC games and have really enjoyed them so thats why I would like a good pc that isn't too expensive though.I would like to play Black and White 2 and maybe Quake 4 in the future.

As long as it takes him to realise he can't put it together and send it back, I imagine.

Mate, be realistic. He's not gonna get anything decent for £300 unless he builds it himself.

This is true. If you actually only want to play HL2 and Doom 3 you could get a £600 PC that would suffice, but you'd need to buy a new computer in a year when you want to play Quake 4 and so on.

But still, to play those you'll be wanting at least a 3Ghz, 512MB-1024MB RAM and either an X800 or a 6600 GFX card for minimum fuss.
