Will you watch?” asked Will-i-am.
No I will not watch your play called Ham
For I do not like it, Will-i-am
“Well will you watch my R&J?
Will you watch it night or day?”
No I will not watch your R&J
There’s not a chance, not at all, no way!
“How about my MaccyB?
It’s fantastic, I’m sure you’ll agree!”
I will not watch your MaccyB
I do not like your plays, you see!?
“Well you’ll watch a bit of Lear
It’s full of love, and laughs, and fear.”
No! I will not watch any Lear,
Now please Will, just disappear!
“You do not like them, so you say
But if you watch them you may, you may!”
I will not like your plays at all
Watching them would make me bawl!
You should use more simple verse
And perhaps include less complex words.
If that was so then it may be true
That I’d watch your plays the whole way through!
“But don’t you see,” said Will-i-am
“It’s the language that makes them grand!
I could write like Dr Seuss
But it’s too simple so what’s the use.”
“Initially they’re hard to comprehend
But you’ll soon see why they’re penned
In such a way, so please, do not dismay!”
Well I will watch your play called Ham,
I will watch it Will-i-am.
I promise I will give it a try
But now I say to you, Will goodbye!
