If you haven't got too much data then CDs or better still DVDs will do - you could even post it.
I use an external hard drive (250gb) which means you don't need to worry about everything fitting. If you've got 'critical' data then you could get two and swap them every now and again keeping one offsite.
I can't recommend this backup software highly enough, it's called SyncBack - the free version is all most people need: http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/
It can take full or incremental backups to external drives/networked pcs/flash drives/etc. etc.
11. .... You are also responsible for backing up any information or other data posted or transmitted by you via the Freeola Services (including any website pages created and posted by you) and Freeola.com will not be liable for any loss or corruption of such information or data including the loss of incoming or outgoing message data or information in any form without exception. Please make a back-up copy.
18. You are not permitted to use Freeola's web space as an offsite backup facility. Therefore, all files uploaded to your web space should be visible and accessible to the outside world (or web-visible). We reserve the right to delete large files or directories that are not web-visible without notice.
So for normal website backups keeping copies at home isn't normally an issue as if your house burns down the odds on Freeola having problems at the same time must be very slim - unless you live near by!
If you put you photos in a website gallery that can be viewed over the internet then this will also preserve a copy of your photos.
For a true offsite backup facility there are specialist companies offering just that service.
Hope this helps...
Thanks,
Pat
