I've seen that before.

Anyway, surely it's just a case of putting a DVD player inside the NES shell?

Possibly, but aren't DVD players generally bigger than a NES? I mean, the disk drive isn't obviously, but you also need the right connectors, and the drive only reads the disk. You'll need some sort of circuitry inside to actually do something with what the drive is reading. And a way of controlling it, because with most DVDs you have to select "Play" in the menu in order to actually see the film and such like.

It would be a matter of simply cramming all the circuitry required (which doesn't actually take up that space into the NES shell)... PC modders are adept at this sort of thing...

That nintendo was modified to cd player and at the end if you noticed theres the new next gen console - xbox 360, I reckon its xbox360.
