I need a CAT5 crossover cable so i can network two computers without a hub, and can't seem to find one anywhere, SR only sells standard cables (as well as i could make out anyway) and all the shops I've tried have had nothing, bearing in mind i'm in N. Ireland there are not many computer shops about and I actually confused a shop assistant by asking for a crossover - all he showed me was a USB network kit and a full hub, network card set costing £50!!!!!!!!

I need one lousy cable - why use USB when i have two lovely 100Mbit cards!!!

It's not worth it, I did it (proper job, soldering iron and everything) but I still got errors and halved throughput.

I'll gladly tell you which wires though, if you want.

Or if you get really stuck, then all you have to do is get normal Cat5 patch cable and "crossover" 2 of the cables, can't remember what ones off the top of my head.

Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
